Peter Morgan Workshops

Preschool Percussion This interactive workshop will assist teachers and childcare workers to develop skills and the ability to play a variety of percussion instruments and rhythms. The workshop explores many ways to capture young children's imagination and attention. Peter will provide and demonstrate a diverse range of instruments, many from other cultures. Participants are invited to bring along a percussion instrument they would like to learn to play and join Peter in a fun filled exploration of percussion. This workshop includes workshop notes. performance time 2.5 hours.   Celebrate Culture with Music This dynamic workshop provides teachers and child care workers with the opportunity to develop skills and confidence to celebrate culture through the exploration of music, song, dance and story. This practical workshop is highly interactive and will introduce participants to a variety of music, instruments, dance and stories from many cultures that can be shared with children and adults. Many of the songs featured in the workshop are from Peter's "Te Huanui - The Path" CD. This workshop includes workshop notes. performance time 2.5 hours.

Tusitala – The Storyteller

From an early age Peter's mother called him “Tusitala” – Samoan for storyteller. Peter's ability to capture the imagination of children and adults with his story telling is a delight.Peter presents traditional and contemporary storytelling with music and dance from many different cultures. The storytelling experiences presented highlight the importance of the links between culture and building strong connections with children and families, building strong self esteem and honouring culture. Participants are invited to join Peter in a highly interactive and dynamic workshop as they develop their skills and confidence in storytelling. This workshop includes workshop notes.
